Mode of Action
- The fungus forms a network of hyphae around the nematode egg mass, penetrates the eggs, and feeds on their internal contents. It produces serine protease, an enzyme that is toxic to nematode eggs, along with chitinases that weaken the nematode body. This results in leakage of cellular contents and ultimately causes nematode death.
